FLOWMETERS
The GEMÜ plastic flowmeter, which operates on the variable area principle, is extremely accurate, resistant
to corrosion, or impact, and is simple to use.
We offer more than 500 standard scales in many measurement types and more
than 3000 special scales to ensure a solution tailored to your specific measurement and
control requirements.
Flow rate measuring to acquire flow data for
neutral and aggressive gases and liquids in control circuits, e.g. in water treatment
systems, flue gas desulphurization, waste water treatment, chemical and pharmaceutical
industries.
The GEMÜ type 840 is particularly well suited
for measuring large volume flow rates such as in open air and indoor swimming pools, waste
water treatment and process water treatment.

The flowmeter consists essentially of
three parts: main flow unit, part flow unit and manual diaphragm valves.
- Main flow unit
The material used is PVC or PP. The orifice material can be selected as either PVC,
PP, or stainless steel. The body has plain (PVC) or welding (PP) spigots enabling it
to be connected by means of screwed valve unions or flanges.
- Part Flow Unit
Plastic flowmeter which works on the variable area principle with integral
metering orifice. Housing material; polysulphone.
The float is made of PVC or PP which can also be fitted with a magnet for
electrical detection of the limiting values. Dovetail sections molded onto the
metering tube allow for easy mounting of adjustable flow indicators (supplied with the
flowmeter), minimum and/or maximum limit switches.
- Manual diaphragm Valves
The part flow unit can be removed from the main body of the flowmeter without
interrupting the main flow or disturbing the installation, by closing the manual valves.
