Fritz Müller was always able to let off steam when puzzling over things and experimenting. So a technical vocation, ideally a precision engineering apprenticeship, was a "must."
It soon became apparent to him that a certain amount of knowledge is also part and parcel of successful puzzling. He obtained this at the Feinwerktechnikerschule [fine engineering technology college] in Villingen-Schwenningen, where he completed his apprenticeship as a precision engineer.
After his studies, he wished to return to Stuttgart where he worked as a design engineer for Herion, then the leading European company in the field of hydraulics and process valves, gaining his initial experience in the area of valve technology.
Inspired by his work and by the fact that up until this point in time only large and heavy metal valves were used, he had a brainwave: the use of plastic as a material for valves. This was the solution which Fritz Müller had been looking for. Using the realisation of this idea, Fritz Müller founded his company in 1964.
Today the innovative company GEMÜ with more than 400.000 product variants and 12 subsidiaries has acquired a standing worldwide. GEMÜ develops further in the same manner in which the company has always adapted to the market requirements with trend-setting developments. Nonetheless, it will remain what it is: an "approachable" partner, owner-managed, using the best of the Hohenlohe region's small and medium-sized companies. |
